Avocado Pear Mango Green Smoothie Recipe
I love my green smoothies! They’re perfect for breakfast and especially in the middle of the day when you need a pick me up. I was really excited about this recipe and thought it was share worthy.
Green smoothies are a super easy way to get in your fresh fruits and green leafy veggies any time of the day.
I’d been so in love with my mango banana spinach smoothie all summer that I didn't even consider adding anything else to it. Adding a few new ingredients made this smoothie extra yummy. Lately I've also been transitioning the base of my smoothies with water versus nut milks which is less plastic waste in terms of convenience foods.
I know I could make my own nut milk, yet if you're a follower of this blog you know I already make so many things as is. I probably will start one day though. Feel free to make this recipe exactly how you like it!
What you will need…
2 cups filtered water or nut milk
1/2 pitted avocado
1 pear
1-2 tbsp coconut oil
a large handful of spinach
1/2 cup chopped mango
1 banana
1/4 cup hemp seeds, almond meal, or protein powder of choice
Blender
Pour water or nut milk into your blender. Add avocado, pear minus the core, and spinach. Blend. Now add banana, mango, and blend some more. Now finally add protein of your choice and coconut oil and blend one last time. If you like your smoothie to be even sweeter try adding a few fresh dates. Just make sure you take the seeds out.
This recipe makes enough to fill up the entire blender which is perfect for me since a smoothie tends to be the main part of my first meal of the day.
It also allows for my hubby to have some if he wants without me wishing I had made more. Adding the avocado makes this smoothie extra creamy, adds healthy fats, and a bit more protein. I've been stocking up on avocados!
Purchase organic fruits and veggies whenever possible.
You can actually save more money buying organic fruits and vegetables at a local farmer's market versus buying even regular produce at any store that I've seen. Organic doesn't necessarily mean it costs more. It just depends on where you buy it. You can't beat the price and quality of local and organic produce!
If you try this one let me know what you think.
