Cleaning your home is a more enjoyable task when you are using 100% natural cleaning supplies in which you can make yourself with customized aromatic scents.  No longer will you have to worry about having toxic chemical cleaners in your home, nor spend a lot of money on store bought natural brand household cleaners.  These tough cleaners will do the job while still being healthy for the planet, our water, and all your loved ones.  Here are three recipes from Mountain Rose Herbs that will create a spotless aromatic home.

DIY Surface Spray

What you will need...

Add all ingredients into your 16 oz spray bottle.  Once closed securely, shake gently.  This DIY Surface Spray can be used for cleaning kitchen counters, refrigerator shelfs, cabinets, drawers, blinds, painted wood surfaces, fans, etc.  This all natural household cleaner has no limits.

DIY Soft Scrub

What you will need...

  • 16 oz glass jar (I love reusing glass jars especially for DIY recipes like this.)

  • 1/2 cup baking soda

  • 1/2 cup liquid castile soap

  • 15 drops of antimicrobial essential oils such as rosemary and/or sage (more antimicrobial essential oils listed below)

  • 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin (optional to keep solution moist)

Mix all of the ingredients into a paste-like consistency and store in a clean glass jar.   This DIY Soft Scrub can be used to clean pots and pans, to scrub sinks, bathtubs, tile, etc.  After scrubing rinse with water or even follow up with the DIY Surface Spray.

DIY Fabric Refresher

What you will need...

Mix all ingredients in the 16 oz spray bottle.  Once closed tightly, shake gently.  Use the DIY Fabric Refresher to give a light clean fragrance to mattresses, pillows, bed linens, couches, fabric covered chairs, and blankets.  This simple spray also works wonders with ironing natural fabrics.

Here is a list of antimicrobial essential oils that can be used for each one of these recipes...

Basil, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Fir Needle, Ginger, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Orange, Oregano, Peppermint, Scotch Pine, Geranium, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, Tea Tree, Thyme

Making your own household cleaners is a great way to save money, avoid chemical sensitivities, and protect your environment all in one. Do you make your own household cleaners?  Please share below.
